What is the TorcPlug and what is its basic operating principle?
The TorcPlug is a multi-set, retrievable, barrier-qualified bridge plug based on a bolt-and-nut principle. Rotating the threaded shaft in one direction compresses the outer components for setting, while rotation in the opposite direction mechanically retracts all components.
How is equalization performed before releasing the TorcPlug?
The TorcPlug includes a redundant valve operated on a secondary shaft. By changing gear positions, the Electric Manipulation Tool (EMT) can turn this valve shaft independently from the plug setting and retrieval function, enabling equalization through the plug prior to release.
What operational flexibility does TorcPlug provide?
TorcPlug is designed for single-run, multi-set operations with adjustable setting force and real-time setting force data response. It is available in multiple sizes and supports applications such as pressure and temperature testing, pressure drawdown, fluid discharge, and activation of tools below the plug.
