TorcCollector

Intelligent fishing tool

Description

The TorcCollector incorporates a chamber thet can be oriented, opened and closed in order to catch a foreign object or debris in the well bore by scooping it up. After catching the foreign object or debris the chamber in the TorcCollector is closed and apiston inside the chamber is actuated in order to verify how much of the chamber is filled up, thus verifying that the fishing tool has caught something.

Initially designed to fish non magnetic debris inside a horizontal dry gas well bore where conventional solutions such as venturi junk basket or magnets would not work.

The TorcCollector can also be used to scoop up well bore filling such as sand or other material that would accumulate on the low side of the wellbore.

The TorcCollector is run in hole in closed position, before it is positioned above the fish, oriented and opened accordingly.
After travelled over the fish the TorcCollector is actuated to catch the fish by scooping it up and close the chamber.
The center actuator inside the TorcCollector is actuated and used to verify how much the TorcCollector has caugth.

Key Features:

  • Fully controllable from surface
  • Selective open and close funtionality
  • Can be oriented prior to engaging debris
  • Repeatable fishing attempts in a single run
  • Real time verification of content inside chamber
  • Length of chamber is customizable upon request
